WAR GAME XRI
YOUR SCHOOL. YOUR HONOR. YOUR DUTY.
These words have more meaning than fourteen-year-old Cassie Routhier and her classmates can comprehend when a strange group called the Chi Rho Iota Corporation take over their high school. Suddenly, they are thrust into a state of the art war simulation that is supposed to prepare them for World War III.
It doesn’t take long for rules to be broken, for people to fight dirty, and for it to seem like something is amiss with the federally mandated simulation. Cassie and her squad are faced with discovering the intentions of the Chi Rho Iota Corporation as well as partaking in a war game that claims to be harmless when it’s anything but safe.
Nothing is as it seems in LIMITED TRUTH.
When Sage Wolfe is accidentally mistaken for a peace offering, her world turns upside down. Dayton, the young, handsome, and insane King of Rosementh whisks her away to his castle to be his bride with the promise that he can give her the world and anything she desires. These offers becoming tainted as Dayton’s true colors show themselves; he is cruel and violent and Sage vows to run away or die trying.
Just when Sage thinks she is hitting rock bottom, a hooded stranger named Jonathan Kreider comes to the castle. He doesn’t say much but his actions speak for themselves. Not only can he wield a sword or shoot an arrow better than most of Dayton’s men, but he always seems to be a step behind Sage, and though it should terrify her, for the first time Sage finds herself filling with hope.
Sage is faced with a choice. Should she run away from the wicked king who took her away from her family? Or should she stay to learn more about the man who lurks in the shadows, the man that makes her heart race and almost makes suffering Dayton’s wrath worthwhile? Sage is about to discover that nothing is as it seems and everyone has secrets; Dayton, the man that calls himself Jonathan Kreider, and even herself.
Cassandra Routhier has become notorious overnight. As Settontown’s war game champion, everyone seems to have their sights on her. Gone are the days of her quiet town where nothing happens. Everywhere she turns there’s someone from school checking on her or someone from the Chi Rho Iota Corporation looking for her to promote War Game XRI. This would be bearable if Cassie was able to dance, but the broken leg she suffered in the final battle of the simulation has left her sidelined and despondent.
When Owen announces that round two will be away, the students of Settontown High worry if they will be able to be victorious for a second time. Cassie learns that the opposing school is the one her cousin attends, and the chance to find out as much as they can about their new enemy almost becomes insatiable. When Squad Treble finds out that an entire squad called the Shrewdest Faction were Woodbridge High School’s winners, the group of teens can’t fathom what they are about to face.
Things get serious when the Shrewdest Faction reaches out to Cassie personally. They know things about Cassie and her teammates that are unnerving. They promise to eliminate every single member of Squad Treble and Cassie finds herself at a crossroads. She is one of the lucky few that doesn’t have to participate because of her injury, but can she sit back and let these extremists threaten and hurt her friends?
Cassie has her decision made for her when she overhears something she shouldn’t. Something so serious that there’s no way she can be standing among the Chi Rho Iota Corporation and act as though nothing happened. When fighting in the simulation seems to be the wiser choice, Cassie knows that there is no going back to way things were before.
