Jolene R. Whitten writes novels that celebrate the power of the human connection. Her published works include A Thousand Fibers, Mid-Century Remodel, and Garment of Destiny. In 2019, the Press Women of Texas awarded Garment of Destiny first place in their fiction category. After a career as a federal probation and pretrial services officer, she published her first book at the age of sixty—proving it’s never too late to “live the live you’ve imagined.”
Jolene and her husband, Randy live in North Texas and are looking forward to their upcoming status as grandparents. They enjoy the outdoors and spend way too much time working in their yard. She participates in local political and community activities, two book clubs, and the Texoma Writers Group. Lately, she’s been spending time knitting baby blankets for her grandson and sewing face masks. Of course, her favorite form of recreation has always been reading.
