Bob Welbaum is a graduate of Newton High School, Pleasant Hill, OH (1966), and the U.S. Air Force Academy (1970). After a twenty-year career in the U.S. Air Force, including a one-year tour in Southeast Asia and a master’s degree from the Air Force Institute of Technology, he was employed as a book and magazine editor at Tomart Publications (1990-2005). His credits include editing Tomart’s Price Guide to Garage Sale Gold and serving as managing editor for Tomart’s DISNEYANA Update magazine for eleven years. Since then, he successfully completed the teaching licensure program at the University of Dayton and has been working as a substitute teacher.
His favorite sport is running (22 marathons as of this writing), wargaming through historic-simulation board games, and Disney collecting. In that regard, he edited the Disneyana Dispatch publication for the Disneyana Fan Club for eight years, and is a former columnist for Laughingplace.com.
